The Poulsen Christmas Story
So as most of you know Mr. Incredible went to Peru and while he was there Sally and I were up in Portland visiting my family before Christmas. The plan was that both of us would leave on the same day and come home on the same day but little did we know that Portland was going to get the worst snow storm its had in 40 years the same weekend I was supposed to leave. It came on Saturday morning and lasted until Monday night. My flight was the first one in the morning that was not cancelled and we called to confirm the flight would still take off before we left for the airport. It was snowy on the way to the airport but we had our chains on and Sally and I got through security with no problem. My mom got in the car and headed back home when about 40 minutes before my flight was to take off they cancelled it and since the Portland airport had been pretty much shut down for 3 days the next flight I could get was not till the 26th, 4 days later, which would mean that Mr. Incredible would not be spending Christmas with his girls. After Mr. Incredible flight was cancelled from Vegas to Salt Lake he finally got on a flight, 7 hours later, and came home. His plan was to wake up and head to Portland to get me with his dad but the highway was closed through Idaho so he had to go to plan B and drive through Reno to Sacramento. I ended up renting a car in Portland and drove to Sacramento and Mr. Incredible dropped off his dad, who had an appointment the next day, and drove to Sacramento to meet me. We didn't have much of a plan of what the plan was after we arrived there though, where we were going to stay and so on, until Mr. Incredible's brother stepped in. Jeremy and his family live in Fresno and they said they would drive up, get hotel rooms and meet us in Sacramento, they were truly an answer to our prayers and saved the day. So after driving all day Tuesday and all day Christmas Eve we finally made it to Salt Lake just in time for the Poulsen's favorite dinner and to open presents. It was a Christmas Miracle! We were so happy to be home and to sleep in our own bed. We are grateful to our family members for their prayers and kindness that was shown to us.
PS Despite the bad weather in Portland Sally and I still had a blast!!
